Checking the records, there have been a whopping four donations for the first half of this year. It’s not surprising, though, considering the current state of the economy.

Today, the process of making a donation has been tweaked just a little. Guests now have a choice of either making a one-time donation of any amount (as before), or signing up for recurring $1 monthly donations. The recurring donations are automatically transfered, and you can cancel at any time. As always, payments are securely handled by PayPal.

These two free fonts, designed by David Occhino, are just the tip of the iceburg. David has other Disney and movie-inspired fonts on his website. Among his collection is Kingdom, a far more finished and professional take on the Disneyland® logo. My version, Started By a Mouse, was my very first font, and it pales in comparisson to David’s work. Keep going, David!

Okay, here’s an update on the Sleeping Beauty Castle paper model. It doesn’t belong with the Designing a Paper Model images, so it’s going here.

Before finally moving onto the adding of tabs and labels, I’m finishing up the stained glass windows. The real-life windows have a lot of detail. So much, in fact,  that it would be insane to recreate it all. Since the printed windows will only be 2-3 inches high, a lot of that information (and work) would be lost. So, you may notice things like Maleficent’s missing face. Hopefully, no one will miss it.

-UPDATE-

I’ve printed a test of this technique using vellum (I love vellum!). Two printed images were overlapped, and the colors really do become much more saturated. I clipped both a single print and a double-print to my desk lamp, and you can see a vast improvement. The photos to the left have not been retouched.

By the way, I got the idea/tip from Dave Lowe’s blog.

Well, the Craft ROBO machine arrived Monday, and I’ve had some time to play with this new toy. First, let’s take it out of the box. Inside is the machine, a power cord, a power adapter, a USB cable, a pen plotter tip, a blade cutting tip, three cutter caps, a CD-ROM, a user’s manual, an installation sheet, and a media pack. The media pack contains the carrier sheet, a sheet of thin cardstock, a sheet of blue vinyl, and a sheet of clear transfer film.

This is a wallpaper inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the person who requested this didn’t specify whether to use the attraction or the movies. I went with the attraction. This just goes to show that you should be specific with your requests.

There is also a new Fan Board update featuring a nice EPCOT-inspired wallpaper.

Keep those gift submissions and Fan Board submissions coming in!

I know this month’s celebration present is a little late, but I’ve been busy with the new paper model and some client work. The download is quietly sitting in my computer waiting to be uploaded, possibly along with a Fan Board update.

I did break down and buy a Craft ROBO on Wednesday, so it should arrive next week. I’ll see about getting a video and review of the machine posted.

Whew! After over 100 hours, the model has been modeled and unfolded. So far, there is a total of 549 pieces, but after the parts gets chopped up to fit onto printable pages, there is likely to be more.

Instead of using Flash to arrange and render the pieces, I’m going to try using Adobe Illustrator. I’m not too familiar with the program, mainly because I’ve been purposely avoiding it. But, I think it will save me some time, and I’ve been looking into buying a Craft ROBO this month. There is a plugin for Illustrator, which will make cutting paper models a lot faster . . . hopefully.
