The D23 Expo has been scheduled for August 19-21, 2011, and tickets are on sale now. D23 members get a discount price, and the longer you wait to buy the tickets, the more they will cost.
The website doesn’t have too much information up right now, but you can get a heads-up on the Fan Art Contest, themed to 101 Dalmations. Although, if you’re sensitive about your artwork, note that the fine print clearly states that all work (sketches, final submissions) become the property of Disney Enterprises, Inc.. Anything to make a buck, right?

The Disney Experience had an unofficial, yet pleasantly surprising, presence at the 2010 Pacific Northwest Mouse Meet this year. Take a look at Barrie Brewer’s photos where you can clearly see many of my (as well as Ray Keim’s) models used as table centerpieces. They were all very well built, and I’m glad so many people got to appreciate them up close.
–UPDATE–
Crystal Von Oy emailed me. She is the sole person who built all of the models for the event. Great job, Crystal; that’s some dedication!

Another slow period for the Fan Board, but I can’t do much about that. If there are no submissions, there’s nothing to show.
Anywho, it’s time for another round of great creations. Claudio reconstructs the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, Courtney gets a new tattoo, and Gert-Jan attempts to build the Disneyland Paris: Sleeping Beauty Castle. Gert-Jan, you’d better read the tip I’ve included if you don’t want to re-build the castle’s base.

A while ago, I petitioned Mousetalgia for one of their pens, offering a trade for a few of my Disney Experience business cards. I’m constantly hearing bout these pens that are the source of so many jokes on the podcast. After hearing about a possible “version 2.0″ Mousetalgia pen coming out, I thought I’d try to get one of the older ones.
Kristen was in charge of shipping the pen out, and I finally received the package on Thursday. It took some persistent bugging, but I finally nagged her enough that she finally mailed it out. Finally. I tease, Kristen. Thanks for the goodies!!! Read More
