It was a lucky catch. I swore that I saw a solid, white silhouette of Jiminy Cricket above the name &#8216;Perris.&#8217; I tried to get a good look from where I was, but I couldn&#8217;t quite focus on it enough to be absolutely certain. The odd part was that the sign is at my home town&#8217;s (Perris) new bus\/<em>Metrolink<\/em> station (the <a title=\"Metrolink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.metrolinktrains.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Metrolink<\/em><\/a> part is still not complete). I knew that Ward Kimball had donated his train collection to the <a title=\"Orange Empire Railway Museum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oerm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Orange Empire Railway Museum<\/em><\/a> (yup, that&#8217;s in Perris, too!) years ago, but I didn&#8217;t think that there were any other connections to him.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"postImage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink3.jpg\" rel=\"p2HrPi-Qm\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3249 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink3-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink3-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink3-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink3.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last night, I did a little bit of Internet sleuthing, and low-and-behold the transportation hub is dedicated to dear Ward! So, I went out this afternoon to take pictures. The &#8220;sign&#8221; that I saw is one of three small banners that feature the same Jiminy Cricket silhouette that is on the lamp of <em>Disneyland&#8217;s<\/em> Ward Kimball locomotive (engine #5). There are also two small plaques, and each covered station features two panels with a photo of Ward and some of the Disney characters that he animated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"postImage\" href=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink2.jpg\" rel=\"p2HrPi-Qm\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3248 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink2-300x125.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink2-300x125.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink2-150x62.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.disneyexperience.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/metrolink2.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This certainly was an unexpected surprise.
