I like cooking. I think I cook well; a few of my dishes are popular among friends and family. I also love geek culture. When I came across the Kitchen Overlord, a website that combines the two into one, I fell in love.

What initially caught my eye were the illustrated recipes. They list all of the ingredients, they provide step-by-step instructions, they’re simple, and they’re fun. There is a Star Wars related recipe, but I’ve omitted it due to the alcohol content.

Tony Stark's Seductively Good Arc Reactor Pasta

Captain America's Breakfast S.H.I.E.L.D.

The dishes also look good. Who wouldn’t want to make some Darth Vader Oreos (originally Death Star Oreos)? I didn’t know you could make homemade Oreos.

Some of them are little weird, possibly even disgusting (check out the Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll Guts). There’s a wide gamut of recipes suitable for just about any occasion. Anybody up for a piece of Elsa’s Frozen Lemon Ginger Braid?

If you’re involving the kids (these are perfect family activities!), you can all sit around the table and color some vintage geeky coloring pages while you wait for the food to cook.

If you’ve got a party – especially a Halloween party – these dishes are sure to be a hit. Even if folks are too tame to try them, they’ll certainly be talking about them! You can get a hard copy of the illustrated recipes in the Kitchen Overlord’s Illustrated Geek Cookbook along with the Kitchen Overlord’s Colorable Compendium of Geek History: An Adult Coloring Book and Companion to the Illustrated Geek Cookbook. As for the rest of the recipes, you might want to try the Kitchen Overlord’s Dead Delicious Horror Cookbook.
