Webdude’s Passing and What It Means for His “Cars” Paper Models

 The Disney Experience  |  January 30, 2020

We are always scouring the Internet for exciting Disney paper models. During our recent excursion, we came across the sad news that paper model designer Webdude passed away on October 9, 2016. He was well known in the paper modeling community, and his creations were well sought after.

A few years before he passed, his website shut down (reasons unknown), and he uploaded his models to a Google Drive account. But, we don’t know how long that account will remain active or if it is even being attended to by friends and/or family. To this end, we have decided to host Webdude’s “Cars” paper models to make sure that they are not lost to time. We even found one of the missing models (Red) that is not in the Google Drive account, and we’re still on the hunt for Lightning McQueen.

John Roberts recently reached out to say that Webdude never made Lightning McQueen, Flo, Ramone, or Chick Hick because he became busy with other projects.

We hope that this is in good taste, and we will gladly delete the files at the request of Webdude’s immediate family members upon request.
