Continuing the Second Wing

Wing Front Edge Detail

The detail piece on the wing’s edge is still an overly tight fit. It creates bulges, making the wing edge look wavy. The wing slots were widened slightly with an X-Acto knife to create a far better fit.

Greeblies were also added to the exterior. I find it interesting that three of the greeblies were molded separately considering that there are similar details on the wing that were not. I’m thinking that there was a painting issue that could only be resolved in this manner.

The engine cover/landing gear doors were pretty simple. The only “tricky” part is getting the door hinges in place properly so that they function smoothly. The doors stay closed pretty well considering that they are held into place with friction. I can’t wait to see the landing gear mounted to the inside.
